Artifact:Motor Development Lab Skill Assessment

Date: Fall 2010

Reflection: Through out my motor development class we had the opportunity to observe and document kids basic motor skills. For Lab two I had the opportunity to observe kids galloping, hopping and running. We assessed both a girl and a boy. They varied in their skill level in each activity. I would say the boy was elementary in both hopping and galloping but he was running at the mature level. The girl was elementary at both running and hopping but was mature at galloping. this was a great experience in learning how to assess motor skills and critic them. this will definitely help me teach students different motor skills and correct children when they are doing them wrong. It is crucial that children learn how to move correctly at a young age.
